As COVID-19 Spreads, Learning How to Turn Your Food into Medicine can Save Your Life

As COVID-19 is spreading across the planet, it is wise for everyone to learn more about the medicinal benefits of herbs that are growing naturally around us. Early this afternoon, I took the girls to pick dandelions in a field.  While we were harvesting flowers, I was approached by a couple who was curious about this plant and wondered what we planned to do with it.  I took the time to explain the benefits this wild herb can bring to their bodies and encouraged them to follow our lead so they too could strengthen their immune systems.

Most people consider dandelions to be a weed as it grows naturally wild in many areas.  It is so much more than that, it is a superfood that is FREE for all planetary citizens to enjoy. Its divine properties can prolong your life as it works naturally with your body.  It is easy to identify and requires little maintenance to harvest and to use.

Auset’s Simple Dandelion Infused Honey Recipe

I believe food should be your medicine, therefore I only use ingredients that support life. Dandelions have medicinal properties that can be used to heal your body.  I use dandelions in my fresh salads, to create tea, honey, and oils. A lot of recipes for Dandelion Honey require the use of sugar.  However, sugar is a neurotoxin that hurts the body with prolonged use. Therefore, I use pure organic honey to make a powerful annual immune boosting sweetener. Honey is antibacterial and antifungal. Follow these simple steps to create your own:

Cut the yellow flower portion from the stem

Gently wash off any bugs or debris

Lightly pack the flowers in a jar

Pour organic bee honey over the flowers

Put the jar in a dark place for at least two weeks.

This will allow the medicinal properties of the flowers to infuse into the honey.  You can use the honey as a sweetener in your tea to naturally boost your immune system. This honey lasts up to a year.

If you are interested in learning more about herbs and how you can turn them into natural medicine for your body, we offer a 10-week herbalism course.

This course will teach you:

The history of herbal medicine

How to identify 20+ plants that grow in North America that can be used for medicinal and nutritional uses

How to harvest, dry, store, and convert herbs into tinctures, decoctions, pills, powers, ointments, teas, lip balm, creams, and ointments.

Supplies and medicine will run low in stores as COVID-19 continues to spread. This supply shortage will force humanity to return to nature to find healing.  Proactively learning how to identify healing herbs and use them to prolong your life is a wise thing to do.
